Uncertainty surrounds NPFL Dec. 18 kick off date

The start of 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League slated to kick off on Sunday December 18, 2016 sportstalkafrica.com gathered may be postponed.
Our correspondent gathered that the uncertainty surrounding the kickoff date of the league is because of the Nigeria Football Federation Annual General Assembly that was moved from December 13, to December 18, in Lagos.
NFF Congress is yet to ratify teams that went on relegation from the NPFL, and teams that secured promotion to the elite league from the Nigeria National League last season.
Enugu Rangers are the NPFL defending champions after waiting for 32years to win the coveted trophy.
Heartland, Ikorodu United, Warri Wolves and Giwa FC have all been relegated to the NNL, while Remo Stars, Kastina United, ABS FC and Gombe United won promotion from the NNL to the NPFL.
Investigation further revealed that there were also protest by some players kicking against the commencement of the NPFL as they were yet to get their last season outstanding payments.
Further checks at the League Management Company (LMC) revealed that none of the twenty clubs NPFL have perfected their players registration as the teams are still busy with filling of forms, medical, and sorting new players clearance.
