Tornadoes are blending well – Coach Bala

Niger Tornadoes Coach Abubakar Bala has hailed the performance of his boys following their 2-0 win over Nasarawa United at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja.

Musa Abdullahi Wakili got the first goal via spot-kick in the first half following a foul committed on Peter Momoh.

Wakili turned out to be the provider of the second goal in the 60th minute of play after he dribbled the past the Solid Miners defenders to lay a pass to onrushing Ebenezer Odeyemi who came as a substitute to seal victory for Tornadoes.

Niger Tornadoes now sits 6th on the log with 18 points from 12 matches.

Bala said he told his wards not to give a breathing space to the Nasarawa United team as they have quality players and are tactically discipline.

He said that his charges were quick to react to balls as such were winning the balls in the midfield and his boys did well adhere to the tactics as instructed.

“You can see that the team is playing as a unit together, my boys did not give them (Nasarawa United) any room to play”, he said.

The Ikon Allah gaffer said that Solid Miners played well but he’s happy that his players were able to remain discipline to outclass their opponent.

Speaking on their next game away to Elkanemi Warriors next weekend, the soft spoken tactician said his team has what it takes to end the home winning streak of the Maiduguri-based side.

He said Tornadoes fans should believe in his youthful side as they have already caused some surprises in the league.

However, Nasarawa United coach, Kabiru Dogo said he was impressed with his boys’ performance, admitting that his boys did not take their chances while the home team buried theirs.

Dogo said that he has now pushed his attention to his next home against FC Ifeanyi Ubah at the Lafia Township Stadium, Lafia.
