Time for revolution in Anambra football – Ifeanyi Ubah

Billionaire club owner, Chief Ifeanyi Ubah, has declared that the time has come for revolution of the football scene in Anambra State, Eastern Nigeria.

The proprietor of IfeanyiUbah FC in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and Patron of the Nationwide League made the declaration following his recent election as chairman of the Anambra State Football Association.

Said he: “To all Anambrarians and football enthusiasts, the time for revolution is here. It is a new dawn for football development in Anambra State and I promise you all this day that Anambra State Football Association will be great again.

“I pledge this day that the reconstituted Anambra State Football Association Board will be transparent and dedicated to its responsibilities. We will work together to turn around the game of football in Anambra State.”

His vision, according to him, is to ensure the emergence of Anambra State as a key stakeholder and a force to reckon with both the national and continental football industry. To achieve this projection, he called on his colleagues in the new board to eschew rancour and promote cooperation

“To other duly elected Board members, the torch of Anambra State football has been passed on to us. It is our duty to brighten this light and we must join hands to achieve this. As representatives of our different zones, we should strive to achieve greatness through co-operation. I enjoin every member of this board to eschew rancor and focus on gainful collaboration to achieve the set goals of the association.”

Thanking Governor Willie Obiano, the Nigeria Football Federation and other stakeholders in Nigeria football for their support in the reconciliation of the different parties and resolution of the disputes which had constrained the effective functioning of the Anambra State FA in the past couple of years, Ubah implored the Anambra State Government for even greater support and collaboration to enable the advancement of the state football industry.

“I implore you to keep encouraging and creating that conducive environment for private investors to key into the vision and mission of Anambra State Football Association, while fostering public-private partnerships as we seek to revolutionize football in Anambra State…I enjoin everyone to key into his revolution. Together, we can make Anambra State football great again.” image
