Shorunmu Makes Case For Afelokhai In Eagles

Former Super Eagles goalkeeper and coach has heaped accolades on Theophilus Afelokhai for his consistency and talent he has displayed in recent years.

He said, “I think Afelokhai deserves a call up to the Super Eagles.”

The vastly experienced Afelokhai was in goal for the CAF Champion League semi final with Kano Pillars two seasons ago and his form in the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup group stage and quarterfinals was vital in Enyimba’s qualification for the Semifinals.

Afelokhai was particularly outstanding for the People’s Elephant in the CAF Confederation Cup away match against Djoliba AC, of Mali and in the away match against Rayon Sports, in Rwanda.

Ike Shorunmo also used the opportunity to call for the Enyimba International inclusion in the Super Eagles set up because he feels the goalkeeper has proven himself enough to deserve an invitation from Coach Rohr to the Super Eagles.

The former Super Eagles goalkeeper concluded by saying there was no better ways to encourage hard work among home based players than inviting a player like of Theophilus Afelokhai to the super Eagles.
