Rohr reveals formation against Argentina

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has revealed he might adopt any of 442, 4321 or 352 formation for the last group game against Argentina at theSt Petersburg Stadium on Tuesday

He gave the indication at a press briefing on Monday evening, shortly before the Super Eagles commenced training.

He said the idea is to achieve a good organisation of the team to provide a fast attack that can produce a win while also keeping a tact defense that would contain the expected offensives of the Argentines.

“We know it is a tough battle but we have a fighting team. We will try to get good organisation. What’s important is fitness and discipline, and the players are really hungry.”

“We are optimistic because we are at advantage with three points and second in the group and we are having a good game. We can win or get a draw and see wha happens in the other game. Argentina have one point and there have doubts.

“We have the youngest team in the World Cup and Argentina has a team with a lot of experienced players. Youthfulness can work to give you advantage of fast pace but sometimes experience counts. My young boys made some stupid mistakes and committed fouls that were unnecessary but we keep working on them and they are getting better.”
