Rohr allays fears on Mikel

Despite the injury he sustained in the match against Iceland in the second group game against Iceland, Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi will be ready to play in the last group game against Argentina on Tuesday, Coach Gernot Rohr has assured.

Mikel got a fracture on his left hand in the battle of Volvograd which required a casting but Rohr says the injury is not enough to keep him out of the next match.

“The medical team have been working on him. It required a casting and it is done with hard plastic. It can be a little inconvenience but it is not too much pain. He will be ready to play.”

Sportstalkafrica.com spotted Mikel in training with a blue casting on this hand on Monday evening at the St Petersburg Stadium, venue  of the encounter with Argentina.
