Plateau Utd vow to reclaim NPFL table top

The management of Plateau United Football Club, says it has put their 2-1 defeat against Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry behind them as they host Abubakar Bukola Saraki Football Club on Sunday in one of the Week 15 contest of the Nigeria Professional Football League slated for the Rwang Pam Stadium.

The Peace Boys said they’re preparing well ahead of the match wit the sole aim of recording a convincing victory so as to keep their dream for a continental ticket alive.

The Jos darling team are poised to reclaim the leadership position on the NPFL log having relinquish their top spot to MFM who defeated Rivers United of Portharcourt 2-1 in a rescheduled fixture.

Plateau United are expecting a tough match from ABS who dropped 2 points at home against Enyimba last sunday.

According to the Media Officer of the club, Albert Dakup, the team will be boosted by the return of four of its regular players to training, namely Philip Azango, Benjamin Turba and Laazarus Fan who were nursing different degree of injuries, while first choice goalkeeper Dele Ajiboye has rejoined the team after serving his one match ban imposed on him by the League Management Company LMC following the aftermath of the Week 12 fixtures against Shooting Stars in Ibadan.

Dakup noted that the absence of the players has affected the team negatively, but he expressed optimism that their return will lift the spirit in the team.

He stated further that his side is highly motivated to overcome any challenge posed by the Saraki boys who are are occupying the fourth position on the league table wit 21 points.

He noted that Plateau united will accord ABS all the respect they deserve as a good host, but will stick strictly with their match plans outlined by the coaches so as to emerge victorious at the end of ninety minutes.

He explained that though there absence was not really felt because of the capable replacements, their experience which has been key to the success of the team at the beginning of the season was seriously felt.

The Kennedy Boboye, tinkered team who are not the bookmakers favourite to win the league are not taking anything to chances as the strategies ahead of their week 15 encounter which is a must win for the team as they intend to strengthen their grip on the league table.
