NPFL-LaLiga Tour: All-Star squad arrive in Cadiz for Carranza Cup

image The Nigeria Professional Football League delegation on tour of the Spanish LaLiga arrived the city of Cadiz on Thursday afternoon ahead of their participation in the LaLiga World Carranza Cup Tournament.

The delegation which comprises of the NPFL All-Star squad, top officials of the League Management Company, NPFL Club chairmen and managers and a team of sports journalists arrived Cadiz at about 2pm and went straight to the NH Hotel where they will stay for the period of the tournament.

After lunch, club officials and league administrators and managers will go in for a seminar on league development and club management and administration before the All-Star players go over to the Cadiz stadium to feel the turf ahead of their encounter with Malaga CAF in the Carranza on Friday.

The league development seminar is a follow up to a lecture delivered to the group in Valencia on Wednesday morning by the Director of Marketing and Commercials of Valencia FC, Peter Draper.

The NPFL All-Star lost narrowly to Valencia FC, Wednesday night, in a friendly played in Alzira, near Valencia, to raise funds for victims of forest fire disaster that occurred there.

The delegation departed Valencia on Thursday morning for a three hour trip by train to Sevilla and one hour trip by coach to Cadiz.

Should the All-Star defeat or lose to Malaga they will go straight to the finals or the third place match of the Carranza Cup to play either Athletico or Cadiz FC.

Interestingly, residents of Cadiz are excited with the presence of the Nigerian delegation being the only foreign team in the competition and the Mayor of the city, Maria Gonzalez, is expected to host them to a reception.
