NPFL: Kesiena out of Lobi opener vs 3SC

Lobi Stars defensive midfielder, Essi Kesiena Jeffrey, will be out of his team’s 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League season opening game against Shooting Stars Sports Club this Sunday in Ibadan, reports

Kesiena will miss the match scheduled for Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, as a result of the late arrival of his transfer papers from Rivers United for registration.

The former Hafia FC of Guinea Conakry who played on loan last season to Go Round FC from Rivers United, has been an integral player of Coach Godwin Koko Uwua’s Lobi since joining the team during the Gold Cup Pre-Season Tournament.

The lanky midfielder is convinced history will repeat itself on Sunday evening for his team to triumph over the Oluyole Warriors in front of their home fans.

“It’s very painful that I won’t be playing the match, but it’s not going to be easy for the both side. We defeated them last season in Ibadan and now 3SC will want to fight back, but I believe Lobi will triumph.”
