NPFL: First career hat trick excites Stephen Odey

MFM FC teenage striker, Stephen Odey, has described his first career hat-trick in the 2016/17 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) as the beginning of reaching for greater heights, reports

The 19-year-old goal poacher who was absolutely magical in his side’s 4-0 bashing of Lobi Stars FC netted his first career treble and became the first player to bag three goals in the ongoing Nigerian top division on Sunday at the Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium.

Stephen scored nine goals in his debut in the 2015/16 top flight and became MFM FC’s topscorer. The teenage striker has started with his blistering form this term scoring four goals in two appearances.

“I’m very excited because it’s my first career hat-trick as a 19-year-old boy playing for the second season in the NPFL. I want to thank God and my teammates most especially my partners in the attack, Onuwa, Olatunbosun, and Adekunle. I have my target and I’m working up to it.

“I will like to use this opportunity to thank the coaching crew for the faith they have in me and I promise not to let them down as I continue to do my best to ensure that we achieve our target for the season,” said the former GT Bank Principal’s Cup top scorer.
