The big striker scored the only goal of the game in the 83rd minute to finally break the Omoluabi Giants resolve in one of the Week One contest of the Nigeria National League.

Bayelsa United looked like having to settle for a point after seeing a series of chances saved by Osun United inspiring goalkeeper, Ayobami Ojo.

Bayelsa United made most of the early running with Ojo saving a third minutes penalty.

Osun United almost took the lead in the 21st minute, but Damola Fakayode, strike hits the woodwork having dribble pass Bayelsa United defenders.

The match remained goalless at the break, and after the restart despite all exchanges by both sides in the opening stages, they failed to create any real clear-cut opportunities.

In the final seven minutes, the winner arrived when Akinbinu made amends to his side misses with a perfect finish from goal mouth scramble.
