Kano Pillars Will Bounce Back Against Kwara Utd- Obiazo

By Jerome Obuninta

Kano Pillars will hope to bounce back on Friday after a slim loss to Abia Warriors when they face giant killer Kwara United in matchday 3 of the on-going 2018 Aiteo Cup group stage at the Agege stadium in Lagos.

The ‘Masu Gida Boys’ must get a win in that encounter to have a chance in the quarterfinals.

A young Kwara united team in this stage of the competition has so far brought down heavyweights like Rivers United and Abia warriors in their first two games and will pose a lot of threat to Kano Pillars.

First choice goalkeeper of Pillars, David Obiazo told www.sportstalkafrica.com that the game against Kwara is a must-win match if they want to advance to the next stage of the competition.

“Yes, we still have the prospect to make up for the defeat against Abia Warriors, because it is vey crucial for our progress in this Aiteo cup,” Obiazo said.

“It is a must-win match because we are on the same points with Abia Warriors; we are just separated by goals and for us to advance to the next stage of the competition we must get as many all 3 point and as many goals as possible.

He also added that Pillars will also want to avoid defeat so as to keep the hopes of advancing to the quarterfinals alive.

The Kano based team is second on the group and will only be guaranteed a spot in the next stage by avoiding defeat on Friday to kwara united.

“We are focused and positive that we will get the needed result as we the players are ready and in a good spirit to get the job done.

“Kwara United are good and they have shown that in their two previous games, this is the more reason we will not underrate them. We will go all out to ensure that we get the maximum points and by the grace of God we will celebrate at the end of the day,” he concluded.
