Nigeria Professional Football League newcomer Gombe United Football Club have revealed the new pay structure at the club with the hope that the new changes would be attractive enough to sign and keep exceptional players reports sportstalkafrica.com.
The highest earner at the club would earn ₦250,000 per month, with bonuses added as extra incentives for the players.
Each away win would see the players earn ₦60,000 per month, with ₦30,000 given for home wins and away draws.
Confirming the changes at the club, head coach Manu Garba hoped the new structure would be improved upon later on in a bid to get bigger talents at the club.
“Many players will love to play for the Gombe, but prefer to go elsewhere where they pay much better,” said Manu.
“We hope that in time, what is being paid will be improved on, so for the time being, we will work with the players we have.
The Savannah Scorpions manager recently warned that the team was not ready for the league as they were lacking in the forward department and not out on preparatory camp.
Gombe United kick off their season against fellow promoted side Katsina United at the Katsina Township Stadium.
