Gateway FC Sack Abimbola, Coaching Crew over Poor Performance

Gateway Football club of Abeokuta’s Head Coach, Samuel Abimbola and entire members of the team’s coaching crew have been sacked with immediate effect.

The sacking, followed the series of unimpressive performance by the club in the

Ongoing second-tier Nigeria National League (NNL) season.

With the team management’s target of securing six points out of the possible nine in the last three matches played.

The club’s management who announced the sacking in a statement, explained that the Ogun State owned team had struggled to secure three points at home against Racine of Lagos, lost to Bayelsa United and Akwa Starlets before losing all its away matches in the league.

These according to the club’s management, had put the team’s promotion ambition in jeopardy.

No replacement has been announced for the sacked coaching crew for the remaining matches in the season, as the time of filing this report.
