FIBA AFRICAN CHAMPIONS CUP: Kano Pillars to face Al Ahly in semi final

Kano Pillars Basketball Club   have qualified for the semi final of the FIBA African Champions Cup in Cairo Egypt.

 

Pillars defeated Algerian Champions, Groupement Sportif Des Petroliers 91-81 points to set up mouthwatering clash with host Al Ahly.

 

The Nigerian Champions lost the first and second quarters to Petroliers 17-19 and 19-20 points.

 

But reading the handwriting on the wall, Pillars came out firing in all cylinders in the third and fourth quarters scoring 28-19 and 27-23 points.

Abubakar Usman had 34 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals and 0 blocks for Pillars.

Mustapha Adrar recorded 16 points,3 rebounds,1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block for Groupement.

Al Ahly who defeated Kano Pillars in their last group A beat BEAC Basketball by three points, 60-63

8th time Champions,Clube Desportivo de Agosto  lost 78-83 to Clube Recreativo Desportivo do Libolo in Angolan derby.

Libolo  will square up against Association Sportive de Saleh who overpowered Club Africain of Tunisia 77-70 points.

The semi-final games come up on Thursday December 15
