FIBA AFRICA CHAMPIONS CUP:Kano Pillars qualify for quarter-final

Kano Pillars have qualified for the quarter finals of the ongoing FIBA Africa Champions Cup despite losing the last group A game to host Al Ahly Sporting Club of  Egypt.

The Nigerian Champions lost 76-92 to the Egyptian Titleholders on Monday night in Cairo.

Pillars lost the first, second and third quarters 15 -25, 18-24,11-29 points but won the last quarter 32-14 points.

Ejike Ugboaja had 19 points, 5 rebounds, 0 assists, 1 steal and 0 block for Pillars as Markeith Terrell recorded 15 points, 2 rebounds, 6 assists, 0 steals and 0 blocks.

The Nigerian representatives will meet Groupement  Sportif des Petroliers of Algeria on Wednesday,  December 14, 2:00am Nigerian time.

Groupement  Sportif des Petroliers  defeated BEAC Basketball  56-81 points

8th time Champions,  Club Desportivo  De 1 Agosto who suffered three straight defeat will meet its fellow club  Recreativo  Desportivo do Libolo  in Angolan derby.

The Angolan Champions Agosto this afternoon lost game 5  to Club Africain of Tunisia 75 to 88 points while Clube Recreativo  Desportivo do Libolo overwhelmed City Oilers 98-44 points In group B results played also this afternoon

In other quarter final pairings

Host Al Ahly will meet BEAC basketball, Club Africain square up against Association Sportive De Saleh
