Ex-Eagles Stars, Adeboye Hail Tinubu At 67

Graciously gifted ex super eagles stars could not hide their admiration for APC national leader and former Governor of Lagos state, Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday at a ceremonial match played in his honour to mark his  67 birthday.

The former heroes who came out to show their love for one of Africa’s most respected politician said they were honoured to be part of this great celebration.

The novelty game between ex supers eagles stars and team Tinubu was keenly contested and it didn’t take long before Festus Odini grabbed the opener as Team Tinubu defeated a selected team of former Super Eagles stars 3-1 at Campos mini Stadium, Lagos Island on Sunday.

Eguavoen grabbed a late consolation for his side but despite the defeat, he is honoured to have been part of the celebration of Tinubu.

“I’ve never met him (Tinubu) before, so being listed among those to play a game in his honour is amazing,” Eguavoen stated.

“i must say i a, very elated to be part of this game and i will always be proud to be here next time”

Adeyinka Adeboye, the Senior Special Assistant on Sports to the Lagos State Governor, advised other Nigerians in top positions to follow Tinubu’s strides in sports development across the country.

“We are giving honour to whom honour is due; as far as sports is concerned in Nigeria, Asiwaju has distinguished himself. If others also contribute their quota, sports will get better in the country,” Adeboye stated.

“As you can see, Tinubu is loved by all, that is why they came here to celebrate with him and i pray we celebrate many more years,” he concluded.
