Apochi head for 3rd pro boxing win

Rising Nigerian professional boxer, Efetobor Apochi, will this evening in the United States, be seeking his third professional boxing victory as he fights on to land improved world rating.

Fighting in the Cruiserweight, Apochi, nicknamed “Positive Energy” is up against United States Lawrence Gabriel at 9pm (2am Nigeria time) tonight at the Rabobank Arena in California.

Making his professional debut in 2017 after winning silver for Nigeria at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games and the Brazzaville 2015 All Africa Games, Apochi won all two of his first bouts, discharging both Mexican Daniel Mejia Fernandez and Mexican-American Leo Pla in early round knockouts.

Lawrence Gabriel debuted in pro boxing in 2016 and had his major win against Ruben Ortiz.

Weigh-in completed this afternoon, Apochi spoke exclusively with Sportstalkafrica.com promising to make Nigeria proud as he has always done and asking for the prayer and support of his countrymen.

He had earlier sent a warning signal to all cruiserweights across the world to get ready for him as he aims to fight his way to the world title.
