Chairman of Nigeria Football Federation Referees Appointment Committee, Alhaji Ahmed Yusuf Fresh, has charged Nigeria referees especially those listed for forthcoming first quarter FIFA fitness test (2017) to be more focused and committed as the NFF and Referees Assiciation step up preparations.

“I want you all to be diligent, prepare your mind towards the laudable programme by FIFA because as a committee from the NFF, we have ready to make the environment conducive for whoever is participating in this first FIFA fitness test for the year 2017,” he said confidently.

However they have been a robust relationship between the Nigeria Referees Association, NFF’s referees committee as communication has been effective.

“Well let me also inform you all that the Nigeria Referees Association are in tandem with our dream, innovations, how to build capacity for the participant :we have to follow the procedure of the world’s football governing body ‘FIFA’ as it aim to help develop referees in sync with what is acceptable globally.”

He warns that they won’t be room for impunity for Nigeria who cannot afford to present unfit referees at the world stage.

The three day first FIFA fitness for the year comes up from 14th-16th of march 2017 and it involves over 80 referees both centre referees, assistant referees.
